well, hello.

Welcome to my new blog, linked to my new website, aimed at promoting my new novel! Howzat for newness?

A tad about me – I’m a 42 year old woman living the Tdot with as much aplomb as I can muster. I am a Doctor. But not that kind of Doctor. I am a Doctor of Sociology and Equity Studies, so if you have something you need to deconstruct/reconstruct, I am your woman.

I also have an organic store which I co-own with a friend who I’ve known since the 80s. If we can survive the 80s, a PhD, and co-owing a business, you can say we’re family. It’s a cute little green box of a store. We’re called Multiple Organics because we are that exciting! In case you want to visit, the website is multipleorganics.com.

I am also a mama. Mama to the sweetest kid, with the widest mischievous grin this side of Yonge Street. Fenn is almost 3 years old, and really, the heart of my heart. I am also mama to our dogs, Kuro and Bella - two shaggier kids. Kuro is a Benji-esque terrier with perpetual puppy looks, but he thinks he’s a ferocious pitbull and will snap if you consider otherwise. Bella is a 55 pound barrel-chested, quintessential mutt, but thinks she’s a poofy lap dog.

I parent this menagerie with my partner, Mr. A. He’s a teacher/papa/partner extraordinaire. We live in slanted row house (we can never set up a bowling alley in the basement) the west-end of Toronto.

Lastly, I am a writer. I started writing my first novel when I was six. It was the story of a chick with an identity crisis. She roamed around the farm, trying valiantly to “fit” in. After a lot of starts and stops, I finally sat down and wrote a novel. A real bonafide novel. It's called The Marvelous and Real Times of Miramar Woo. I think. I am now shopping around for publishers. So hey, if you’re a publisher and want to take a chance on moi, drop me a note!!!
